In the Cove of the Caves, soft Dewey Bridge
Entrada Sandstone was eroded away by streams flowing down from
channels above each alcove to form the shallow
caves. At each end of the cove is a large arch.
Double Arch (144 ft by 112 ft) is one of the most visited arches in Arches
National Park, yet rarely seen from this side,
framed by the unmarked Cove Arch (span of 49 ft and a height
of 34 ft). Adding to the unusual viewpoint, the panorama was created about one hour after sunset on a near
full moon night.
