South Florida is a sub-tropical low land of water. The tip of the peninsula is a slow-moving sheet of water, mostly protected by Everglades National Park, originating from Lake Okeechobee, and emptying into Florida Bay. The Tamiami Trail travels between Everglades National Park and the equaly beautiful Big Cypress National Preserve.
