Shilin (the Stone Forest), about 100km east of Kunming, is a maze of grey limestone towers reaching 30m. A walkway let you wander around the weird rock formations. Nearby villages are inhabited by the Sani tribespeople who sell handicraft and act as tour guides. Shilin is part of the South China Karst UNESCO World Heritage Site
