Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve protects a vast and varied volcanic landscape: flood basalt areas, and three lava fields laying along the Great Rift of Idaho, which includes the deepest open rift crack in the world. True to its name the eruptive craters are numerous, diverse, and spectacular.
