Lexington and Concord are two historic towns close to Boston. Lexington is where the opening shots of the American Revolution were fired, on April 19, 1775. Following this battle, the British troops marched to Concord where they were defeated by the American militia, the Minute Men, at the North Bridge. The sites of this momentous day are preserved in Minute Man National Historic Park.
