Nashville is the capital of Tennessee, known as "Music City USA" and "Home of Country Music". The Ryman Auditorium was for many years the site of the Grand Ole Opry, a weekly country music radio program that defined American Country Music. It happens to be is the oldest continous radio program in the United states, having been broadcast since 1925. Nearby Broadway is home to many country-music bars and clubs. Together with 2nd street, they are part of the District, the liveliest area of downtown. Nasville, also called "The Athens of the South", has a number of impressive greek revival public monuments, including the State Capitol, one of the oldest in the US.
