Jackson, Wyoming has a population under 9,000, however it is a major gateway for millions of tourists visiting the nearby National Parks, Grand Teton and Yellowstone. Jackson's strong tourism-based economy has resulted in a large shopping and eating district, centered around the town square, which is famous for the large arches of shed elk antlers at its four entrances. Those antlers are gathered from the nearby National Elk Refuge, which provides sanctuary for the largest elk herd on Earth.
