Waterton Lakes National Park, together with Glacier National Park in the US, forms the first international park, Waterton/Glacier International Peace Park, established in 1932. The park symbolizes the bonds of peace and friendship between the people of the United States and Canada, and in summer a border crossing is open in the park. Although the park has a lot of diversity for its size, the main highlight are the Waterton Lakes, the deepest in the Canadian Rockies, overlooked by the historic and stately Prince of Wales. Waterton/Glacier International Peace Park is a
UNESCO World Heritage Site.
