Genoa, settled in 1850 by Mormons from Utah, is Nevada's oldest town. Genoa was home to Nevada's first newspaper, first hotel, first court, and first bar, a place patronized by Mark Twain, Theodore Roosevelt, and Johnny Cash, and used in famous Western movies. Today the population of Genoa is 250.
