Long Beach initially developed as working-class area centered around the port of Los Angeles, the largest in the US. It now is home to a few notable tourist attractions as well. The main one is the Queen Mary, one of the most prestigious ocean liners that crossed the Atlantic more than a thousand times, before finding a final home in Long Beach in 1967, as a floating museum that also houses an hotel and restaurants.
