Located in the Tehachapi Mountains in Keene, Chavez National Monument is the former headquarters of United Farm Workers, the US first permanent agricultural union, established by Cesar Chavez, the most important Latino leader in the United States during the twentieth century. Cesar Chavez lived there and is buried in the memorial garden.
