London Eye, London

The London Eye, also called Millennium Wheel is a 135m (443 feet) observation wheel, the tallest in the world. An evolution of the Ferris wheel, the capsules are completely enclosed, mounted on the outside of the frame, and stabilized mechanically rather than being kept level by gravity. The best time to ride (or "fly", as they say) is at sunset, where the views over the illuminated Westminster Palace and Thames River are spectacular.
